Your moving where?

Yes, as some of you may have heard I have accepted a job in Phoenix, AZ. My last day at St. Agnes was October 19th. Chris and I are very excited to be moving to warmer weather. I will be working at Dignity Health as an application analyst supporting Softmed & 3M products. We have a few months to permanently move to AZ and I will be traveling between Phoenix and Baltimore until we move. I will post more as I know further details.

Sump pump drama and Asher's first days of school

The sump pump stopped working and flooded the basement with water for the 2nd time in a year.  Chris and I spent an hour or so pulling buckets of water out of the sump pump to stop it from overflowing further.  Asher and Charlotte tried to assist as well by putting the towels down on the carpet and jumping up and down on the towels until they too were soaked and mommy would give them another towel.

Thank you to my friend Marina for letting me come over so quickly to pick up my steam vac so that I could suck up a million gallons of water out of our brand new carpet in the basement.  Thank you also goes out to my step brother James who came through with some fans to help dry the carpet out and worked with Chris on Monday to replace the sump pump.

We took Asher in for his first day of school and parent orientation.  We got overloaded with information on what the kids were going to be doing and paperwork that they needed us to fill out.  Ash is all set for school and so excited!

Asher's Kindergarten week 2

Asher started Kindergarten last Monday and now has 2 weeks of school under his belt.  Homework started on Tuesday and after the first night of a little fussing Chris has been able to get him to do it without much fuss the other nights.  I am taking him to school in the mornings and dropping him off.  He likes it when I don't walk him up to the school but just let him out of the car like the other "big" kids.

He has read to me his first "book" which was a few papers stapled together with the word "THE" and a picture of different things.  He was so proud of being able to "Read" the book.

Next Monday is Raven's day and he gets to wear a Raven's shirt.  Hot Dog lunch and Ice Cream starts next week as well.  Brings back so many memories of elementary school for me.  I used to look so forward to those hot dog lunch days!

Charlotte's 3rd birthday

Charlotte had her 3rd birthday party.  It was great to see all the family come out to the park for the day.  We rented shelter 22 at Patapsco state park and the rain held off until we had the car packed up and ready to leave.  The kids all had fun running up and down the trail, playing in the creek, blowing bubbles, and going to the playground.  Sharon (gram) made a beautiful pink cake with mini cupcakes.  It was super yummy and I even broke my diet to have a little taste.  We had a cupcake shaped pinota that all the kids enjoyed beating up with Asher's baseball bat except Charlotte.  I think she was scared or didn't like the attention so she sat with gram and grandma and watched the older kids go chasing after all the candy.  Ellie helped Charlotte open her presents and they had a lot of fun looking at everything she got.  Mommy and daddy gave Charlotte a really cute Barbie bike that she has been wanting for a year and was finally tall enough to get it for her.  She also received several baby dolls, a cupcake game, Cinderella dress with wand, hello kitty stickers, stuffed animal, and some other gifts.  We all had a great time and were exhausted when we got home.  Charlotte was still so excited after I put her to bed Chris and I heard her singing "hey guys, it's my birthday, it's my birthday".

February 11,2012

Asher has gone to my mom's for the day and spent the night. It is fun to see Charlotte's personality change when he is not around. We went to dinner at the corner stable tonight in King's Contrivance. Unfortunatlly the food and service was not very good. Chris and I both had ribs but everything from the sauce to the sides was disappointing. Good thing we picked up cheesecake at Costco earlier and we had that for dessert when we got home and put Charlotte to bed.
